Say hello to our new science team

Here at KatKin, we're all-in for cat health. And out to gently-cook the most nutritious food possible for cats. So we're betting big on the science behind our fresh recipes.

We've expanded our science team. Meaning our best-in-class cat nutrition capability is bigger and better than ever —and poised to further prove the health benefits of fresh food for cats.

Let's say hello to the latest additions to our science team.

Research and Development Director

With more than five years experience at a fresh pet food brand,  where he published numerous peer-reviewed papers, Ryan brings extensive science leadership experience to KatKin, where he’ll lead the new team alongside KatKin’s existing team of cat nutritionists.

Ryan says, "In a world where many vets are crying out for more feline nutrition education, and cat parents are ever-more curious about how to keep their cats healthy, KatKin’s commitment to science has one aim: to get cats the healthy, fresh food they were born to eat.”

He continues: “KatKin is now in the perfect position to change the way cats eat. With in-house vets, cat nutrition experts and now our science team in place, our cat-first team is perfectly placed to make the UK’s healthiest cat food. And that means happier, healthier cats – first across the UK, and then across the world.”

Senior scientist

Boo Boo holds a PhD in biochemical and molecular nutrition, and has previously held roles at a fresh pet food brand and a leading nutritional science firm. At KatKin he’ll design studies to prove out the benefits of KatKin’s fresh recipes to cat health.

Boo Boo says, "I'm pretty sure I was a cat in a past life. In this one, I'm dedicated to understanding feline health and nutrition, a field that remains quite mysterious to us humans. Since we are their whole world, I want to give cats the healthiest and most enjoyable diet possible."

Scientist 

Devon brings a wealth of experience in the fresh pet food space to KatKin, where she’ll focus on study design and execution, data analysis and creating customer-facing content to support cat parents in choosing the healthiest food possible for their cats.

Devon says, "Sharing things that I love about cats and science is easy, because... I'm obsessed with both. I've always loved cats for their independence, intelligence, and sass. And I’m drawn to science for its curiosity, discovery, and creativity.

So science + cats? It just makes sense. I'm excited to push the boundaries of cat nutrition and help prove that what we feed our cats truly impacts their health and longevity."

Technical Product Manager 

With a MSc in neuroscience, LeeAnn also has more than four years working with fresh pet food brands. At KatKin her focus will be on personalised, science-backed digital product development, data science and coding.

Ryan, Devon, Boo Boo + LeeAnn join our existing science team. You might recognise a few of their names already. But in the coming weeks and months, get ready to hear more from Sandra, Dom, Saurabh, Fiona and Richard. Because we'll be getting our claws into the science of fresh cat food.
